Over the last big hurdle...

Well...I took my HESI test on Monday, and I passed with flying colors. That was the last major feat before graduation in a couple weeks!! I am so excited. Just a couple minor exams left, and I am officially a college graduate.

Since clinicals are done now, I have had some spare time on my hands, which I guess I better get used to because I am going to have 6 weeks worth of spare time after graduation. I went to Roger Williams Park near our house and took some pictures for fun. I was only there for about a half hour before my camera battery died, so I definitely want to go back and take some more pictures. They have beautiful ponds, bridges, a zoo, and a botanical garden. I saw a swan in one of the ponds, so I started taking pictures, and made a beeline toward me. I was a little afraid that it might fly up at me or come out of the water and peck at me... Do swans do that? Anyway, it was really close, and I never realized how huge swans are. I got some really great pictures. Here are some of my faves.

I should be studying...

So, I took off this whole week from both jobs, and I only have class on Thursday. John is gone in D.C. with a group of 8th graders for their Spring Break... So there is no excuse for me not to hit the books full force in preparation for my HESI test next Monday. And yet here I am, tooling around on the Internet, chatting with mom and Lisa on the phone, making a little shopping trip to Old Navy & Target, even spending an hour on the treadmill at the gym. In a day that should have been dedicated to studying, I think I have only actually spent an hour doing one practice test. I am the worst procrastinator in the entire world...

Greetings From Rhody

I love the idea of having these blogs as a way to see what it going on in the lives of friends and family. I peek in on some every now and then, and keep thinking to myself that someday I would start one too. So, finally, I did it. Even though I sometimes feel as though I have absolutely no time, I am going to try to be regular with posting.

So, the latest news with me here is that I got a job offer at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. I am doing a Collegiate Nurse Intern program there how, and they offered me a full time position there to start in June. I will be working nights, which isn't great, but that's where most new grads start, so I'll take it for a while.

Graduation is May 17th!!!! I am so excited. My whole family is coming out to visit. They are renting a place down on the ocean in East Matunuck, RI. It should be great.
